This is a hematoxylin and eosin stained slide of myocardium. There is abundant inflammatory infiltrate composed of mononuclear cells including lymphocytes and macrophages. Conspicuous multinucleated giant cells are present in the interstitial space where the have replace the cardica myocytes. Occasional eosinophils are also noted.
