Pericardial Tumors - Malignant - II
This close up shows mesothelioma tumor surrounding the superior vena cava and compressing this vein. Extensive thrombosis is present in the extrapericardial cephalad segment of the vena cava, (see lower portion of the image, with red discontinous lines) The thrombosis is secondary to the stenosis of the intrapericardial portion of the superior vena cava by the mesothelioma). Note the absence of tumor on the pleura of the right lung.
